To wake up early each day is often a tip given by successful people. But, if you aren’t a morning person, this tip isn’t as easy to follow as it may appear. Does that thought of waking up before noon fill you with dread? No fear—becoming a morning person will give you more time and energy and can be accomplished by reading our tips on how to be a morning person.
Prep the night before
What are the biggest obstacles you run into each morning that send you into a panicked, rushed frenzy? Can you never find an outfit to wear? Do you scramble around looking for those documents you need for an early morning meeting? Before you go to bed, think about what you need to accomplish in the morning. This will start your day on the right foot and help yourself along by prepping as much as possible.
Get out of bed right away
As tempting as it may be to hit the snooze button, it may just make you lethargic and grouchy. Challenge yourself to get up and out of bed within the first few minutes of waking.
Get active
A little bit of physical activity can go a long way when you want to become a morning person. Take your dog on a brisk walk, do some quick stretches and yoga poses, or head to the gym. You’ll be able to enjoy the peace and quiet of the early morning hours, and will feel ready to jump into the day once your heart rate goes up. See a similar health article on superfoods.
Make your bed
An unmade bed may strongly temp you to crawl back between the sheets and catch a few more z’s. Make your bed sometime during your morning routine for a little burst of productivity. And once you finish a long day at work and head home, you’ll notice how nice it is to come home to a tidily made bed.
Eat breakfast
One of the biggest perks of being a morning person is being able to fully enjoy a hearty and healthy breakfast‑no more sad granola bars eaten on your way to work each day. Not only is breakfast a good chance to fuel your body with the nutrition it needs, but it’s also the perfect time for you to focus on your day ahead. Which brings us to the next point …
Think about your daily goals
Goals are incredible productivity motivators and accomplishing even the most simple of tasks can give you a boost of feel-good endorphins. Write down or simply think about your goals for each day and what you need to accomplish. Include anything from folding a batch of laundry to hitting that work metric you’re striving towards.
Develop a routine
Becoming a morning person doesn’t happen overnight, create a regular wake-up routine so you can adapt in the long term. Even if it might be a struggle to begin with, your morning routine will develop into a time that you cherish each day.
Waking up each morning can become something that you enjoy with a little discipline and a routine that works for you.

I love the tip on becoming a morning person, but I am a morning person already. I prepare everything at night, and think about the things I need to do the next day. I just need to eat healthy breakfast in the morning.

Love your tips. The one I think resonates to no end is seeing the unmade bed. There is something about that sight that just plays with the psyche!

I find that waking up with making your bed give you structure for your day , when I’d you have absolutely nothing going on ! I liked these tips . Thank You
Well in the morning I like to wake up 20minutes. Prior to the rest of family household getting up for school with the little ones or being able to have a good breakfast instead of rushing
Lots of good info. A walk then breakfast sounds great to me!
Good tips, I’ll give a couple of them a shot.. You’d think being a logger a guy would get used to being up early but after almost ten years, I still don’t like getting up before the sun’s up… Minimum!
Great tips
I had to become a morning person for 22 years and did not enjoy it. Upon going out on retirement I went back to my night person routine without any problem.i I did use most of your pointers and they did help me wake up and function. I was just not happy.
Great tips for a good morning routine
I just listened to “The Miracle Morning” audio book I got from youtube for free! The book is by Hal Elrod, and what an amazing story it is! Basically you are going to spend 6 TEN minute intervals doing exercise, personal development, meditate, and 3 other things I don’t remember, but all were easy and I am in my third day and can tell you it is already making a BIG difference!
Yes since I retired I was sleeping in and not getting much done now I have started getting up before 7:00 am when I had a regular job I was up before 5:00 am and tried to be on the road by 5:30 for over 19 years but was taking naps at noon and falling asleep in the charge at home then going to bed.
I always wake up kinda early around 8:30 a.m. but to some people 8:30 is getting up late so who is to say witch is healthier than the other?
Very useful and a way of staying healthy and active !
I am definitely a night person (some of my best projects I start st 10:00 at night), but I am trying to be more of a morning person. It is a struggle, but I think your tips on becoming more of a morning person will help. Thanks for sharing them. Wish me luck!
I go to bed early every night after a long day
If you are not a morning person don’t fight your natural body cycle. You just end up not being as productive and happy as you can be if you allow your day to follow your peak times. If you start work at 8 am but not really awake or energized, you are wasting time. If your most productive time is in the evening or at night, work a night shift. Yes I know, some things are required to start early. Doesn’t mean you have to be just like everyone else.
THESE ARE GREAT TIPS, EVEN THOUGH I AM A MORNING PERSON.THESE CAN COME INTO PLAY JUST BEFORE MY SHOWER FOR THE DAY,VOILI, I READY TO GO.
Are you kidding?! A night person cannot force his or her body to function optimally in the morning any more than a morning person can force his or her body to function optimally in the evening or at night.
