Dogs are notoriously high maintenance when it comes to clean up. They have to go for walks, you have to clean up their business, and it becomes a lot of work. A cat has their litter box where everything gets hidden like buried treasure. Cats are cleaner than dogs – they aren’t rolling around in the mud or playing in puddles when it rains. Cats clean and take care of themselves.

When you have a dog, you need to make sure you are home to walk it, feed it and make sure it’s not left alone too long. This can put a major damper in your social calendar. A cat loves its alone time and will probably spend most of it sleeping rather than tearing up your favorite shoes. You can even leave a cat for a couple days if you leave enough water and food. It could be the perfect relationship for you and an animal if you are someone who likes a little peace and quiet every once in a while. Cats will let you have your space and then be ready to hang if it both suits you at a later time. No need to feel bad if you can’t spend all day playing with Socks.
